Discerning the signs of the times – my predictions for 2019 and beyond

Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! Introduction

As long as I can remember I’ve been a dreamer and a seeker. I’ve been trying to connect the dots, trying to put the puzzle together. It’s just the way I’m wired. I’m now sixty-one years old and I can say that, for the first time, a vague picture is starting to form. With this article I’m going to try to describe that picture. But before I do that, a few disclaimers:

• I realize no picture can ever be complete; no one man or woman can possibly see the whole (‘ . . we see in a mirror dimly . . .’) Only God is omniscient. We all see imperfectly and are biased in ways we don’t quite realize. But the verse above also says that we do see ‘in part.’ That is what this is about.
• This is only a sketch but even a police composite drawing can lead to an arrest.
• I admit I may be wrong or at least I may be missing significant things. So I welcome others to bring forth the things that I cannot see.
• This is not to be construed as a prophetic word. Though I hope this writing is inspired by the Holy Spirit, I do not claim it to be infallible and a ‘thus saith the Lord.’
• Neither is this an ‘end-times’ prediction – these things may presage the coming of the Lord or they may not. This is simply an attempt to ‘discern the signs of the times.’

My predictions are quite gloomy but I hope still worth stressing because the stakes really are very high. My encouragement to you, O man or woman of God, is to rise up and be filled with the Spirit of God. Be men and women who are full of faith and courage. You and I will certainly need it.

The reason that I’m going out on a limb is to get to this one point. Here it is:

I’m trying to paint this picture to warn you not to worship anything or anyone other than the true and living God. Now more than ever, we must beware of false gods, of the many subtle ways we all are tempted to commit idolatry. This is serious sin; remember it actually tops the Ten Commandments’ ‘list.’ The truth is that many Christians are walking right into a trap for which they are completely unaware and unprepared. My hope is that this little sketch of the future will be enough to make you stop and think about what you believe and how you’re living and then turn solely to the living God. Do not fear pain or suffering or death; embrace your weaknesses and vulnerabilities and do not seek out the world’s solutions; in most if not all cases they will be well-laid traps.

We will become very vulnerable and unless we embrace and accept our weaknesses we will blindly and passively accept the world’s false salvation.

The Staircase

I received this image several years ago and it describes many aspects of the times we’re going into:

• It’s an enclosed environment – the world has become a controlled space; practically everything that we now experience is a manufactured, contrived reality.
• Incrementally descending – we are slowly descending, step-by-step into more and more chaos, death and destruction.
• A way out exists, but we must go down to get to it – God always provides a way of escape, but he never promised immunity from pain and suffering.
• A window is in the door – there is always hope in God. He alone will show us the way to see the end when we will finally be vindicated. So we can endure unjust suffering (or any suffering) because we know that our God will set everything right in the end.
• No landing at the door – we will need to make a sudden exit and when it presents itself, we must be ready to take it.

Problem – Reaction – Solution

Much of history follows Fredrick Hegel’s dialectic philosophy: thesis, antithesis, synthesis, simplified in the vernacular: problem – reaction – solution. Let me give you an example:

The destruction of the World Trade Center Towers One, Two and Seven (yes, three towers collapsed into their own footprint on September 11, 2001) created a problem, a big problem. This problem, whether you believe it was staged or was caused by real terrorism, the reaction was swift and sure – waves of American patriotism and a burning vengeance to repay those scum who did that horrible act. The solution was also swift and sure – the USA Patriot Act[1], already drafted and waiting to be introduced, along with war plans against Afghanistan and Iraq, also waited to be deployed. This is one of many examples of a particular kind of problem–reaction–solution, that is, false-flag terror.

As Rahm Emmanuel, Chief of Staff for Barack Obama and Mayor of Chicago, once said, ‘Never let a good problem go to waste.’ This logic is used in many ways by various corporate, industrial and governmental leaders, seen and unseen. Very evil, powerful, well-financed and connected men in history have set their traps in this way: they create or steer or co-opt a problem, which inevitably leads to a predictable reaction to that problem, and for which they possess a ready-made solution, waiting in the wings.

In this way it appears to be an opportune and even welcome solution that people really want and need (or have been conditioned to accept), and for which the solution providers end up being the heroes and saviors. They are then elevated and positioned even better to set up the next cycle of problem–reaction–solution.

It is the use of this cycle that can move society in a particular direction, a direction that strategically positions and benefits the movers. Of course they’re not always completely successful (after all they are not all-powerful gods), but as long as their logic is not sufficiently detected, they can continue to use that logic indefinitely. Eventually, by this method, over years, decades, or even generations, psychopathic and sociopathic leaders and their dark powers, secretly chart and move the course of nations.

This pattern of problem-reaction-solution, can also, if a person is perceptive enough, and with enough data and context, become a means to predict what solutions will likely be revealed. That is the general method that I’m using to make these predictions.

That said, Psalm Two is worth mentioning here:

Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
“Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.” — Psalm 2:1–6

We must never forget that our God is the One who in the end will have the final word and will bring true justice and peace into the world, despite all of the machinations of men.

Identifying Significant Future Trends and Events

I’m now going to lay out my best educated and hopefully inspired deduction of what I believe is likely to happen in the next several years. There is no way to be definite about the time frame, but it will likely happen over the next few decades. Again, I do not claim to have perfect knowledge here. But I’m making these predictions based on decades of reading, studying, thinking, discussing, praying, teaching and writing about these things. I realize that I’m fallible, but the general trajectory and end goal is my emphasis here anyway. As time goes on, these basic elements should become obvious. Some of them will happen suddenly; others will develop and worsen over time.

I’m going to tell a story with six basic elements. These elements may happen in this order or they may not, but they will likely happen with the relationships as I describe them.

Number 1 – A Growing Dystopia

Summary: Intensification of weather weapons, crumbing infrastructure and financial upheaval will create major migrations and the breakdown of cities and towns across the world.

It’s not a pretty picture, but the landscape of our cities and towns will grow darker and sink further into disrepair. Infrastructure, especially the electric power grid, has also reached a point of disrepair that will start to fail, even catastrophically. Whole cities and towns will be abandoned. Floods, wild fires, hurricanes, droughts, tornados, tsunamis, volcano eruptions, earthquakes and other natural disasters will level wide swaths of our landscapes. Our government officials now predict that climate change will cause weather to intensify. But they can make that prediction because large-scale weather modification systems – geoengineering systems – now exist that can create, intensify, and steer otherwise naturally-occurring weather systems.[2] The claim that climate change will cause this works as a convenient pretext for a planned wrecking of civilization as we know it.

Military and industrial groups have been working on weather modification/geoengineering research and development for decades. And weather weaponry is the perfect weapon because it’s nearly impossible to distinguish from the real thing and is therefore nearly impossible to detect with any certainty, thereby completely obscuring the real perpetrators.

In 1945 at the close of World War II, John von Neumann, a brilliant mathematician led a group of scientists to a meeting at Princeton, where they agreed that modifying weather deliberately might be possible. He said:

Intervention in atmospheric and climatic matters . . . will unfold on a scale difficult to imagine at present. . . . this will merge each nation’s affairs with those of every other, more thoroughly than the threat of a nuclear or any other war would have done.

The year 1945 was seventy-four years ago. Make no mistake: weather research has continued and only increased since then. So if weather manipulation and weaponization was possible then, what could it be now? Yet ironically, there is now no talk of it in mainstream circles and to imagine that large-scale weather manipulation is possible is openly ridiculed.

The UN program called Agenda 21 or Agenda 2030[3] amounts to a huge land and resources grab. This program is intended to return wide areas of the United States and other nations, back to their natural state and render them uninhabitable. Ostensibly this is done to preserve and protect environments and institute ‘sustainable development’ programs. But actually it appears to be a means to inventory and control all natural resources and force mass migrations, ultimately pushing those who survive into ‘smart cities.’

We usually think of dystopia as an endemic physical/material/institutional loss of services. But there’s also a mental and emotional side – an endemic mental and emotional disordering, an impairing of our thoughts and judgment. Call it confusion, chaos or distraction –  this has already started in earnest and has many vectors including the 24-hour news cycle, social media feeds, etc. So much conflicting content produces a fog of confusion, alienation, conflict and a sense of helplessness and hopelessness.

But for the next several decades look for this agenda to roll out slowly but steadily with weather modification, directed energy weapons and failing infrastructure as the catalysts for this destruction. Martial law will be increasingly imposed. This growing dystopia – mental, emotional, physical – will form the backdrop for the rest of the basic elements of this prediction.

The growing dystopia will of course impact the world’s financial systems, but I’ll not get into those predictions. What I will say is that America and the western financial systems will go through major changes and will very likely be the problem to trigger massive reactions and radical solutions. One of those major shifts will be the demise of brick and mortal retail due to the ever-increasing online merchandising, especially Amazon.com. Strip malls and major malls are becoming ghost towns which are in turn signaling the decline of large swaths of cities and towns, which depend on them. All of this means more and more dystopic landscapes.

Number 2 – The ‘Discovery’ and the repudiation of all western religion

Summary: Strange as it sounds, a so-called scientific discovery or long-held secret finally disclosed, will reveal that aliens – extraterrestrials – are somehow among us and are as gods who hold our destiny.

Into the midst of this growing dystopia, a ‘discovery’ will be made. This discovery will be scientific and therefore essentially unassailable. It will also be internationally coordinated – UN commissions, national space agencies, major universities, NGOs, etc, will all confirm that alien life exists and has in some way seeded humanity. How it will be discovered or based on what artifacts or evidence will be disclosed, we can only speculate, but it will likely be a carefully-controlled, coordinated, and official disclosure. From this discovery it will follow that all western religions are defunct and will only be recognized and respected as heritage institutions, programs or museums. Over a period of several years, respect will be granted and laws passed to protect the private practice of these religions. But any public expression of ‘unverified,’ ‘unapproved’ religious practice will be outlawed or considered a sign of mental illness and will subject its leaders to some form of institutionalization. Consequently the true church will go underground, that is, where it’s not already underground.

The only religion to be recognized will be a form of eastern mysticism because it supports and is compatible with quantum theory. Quantum theory could form the basis for the evidence of the discovery.

This may sound strange to our ears, but consider how prevalent the theme of alien invasion is in pop culture. This programming – this sophisticated story telling – plants the idea firmly in the mind so that, if alien invasion is to happen, it will be irresistible and will require the unification and globalization of man.

The alien ‘discovery’ will either reveal an advanced form of AI/AGI[5] or it will force the world to protect itself with AI. Either way, AI will become the savior. We will be forced to put our trust in AI; we will need to globally come together to form a universal AI through which all resources will be produced, distributed, consumed, transacted and disposed of. See Number 6 below for more on this. This discovery/disclosure will have profound problem-reaction-solution production value. It will create unheard-of panic and chaos, tantamount to war and may even produce war.

Number 3 – AI, robotics and humanity blur

Summary: An aura of strangeness continues with artificial intelligence and robotics advancing to a degree that they become nearly indistinguishable from humans.

It’s already begun – venture capital business investment in AI development is rising. Constellation Research conducted a study that saw sixty percent of C-level executives planned to increase investment in AI by over 50 percent compared to last year.[6] Also, Google announced its Duplex product and demonstrated the creepy ability to make appointments with humans, without them detecting it’s a robot they’re doing business with.[7] Not that it’s always that sophisticated, but the point is we have entered the brave new world of commonplace, human-like androids. As a corollary, humans are taking on more system-like features: agreeing to be chipped, getting surgical joints, limbs, brain chips, 3D-printed organs and more.

Robotics will increase and mature to the point that they will become nearly indistinguishable from humans, at least in some settings. Sex robots will become epidemic and will create a whole new sex industry and addiction.

Programs will be formed to provide transhumanist upgrades to connect to the internet and be enhanced by AI. Social scoring systems will be enacted to provide these services to those who cannot afford them and who would otherwise be disadvantaged. This will provide incentives to participate. Those who refuse to participate will not get ahead and will eventually sink into poverty and dereliction or be forced to go off-grid. In the wake of this social breakdown, a criminal underworld of black markets, extortion and militias will take shape.

Number 4 – Humanity goes weak, diseased, disused and zombified

Summary: The continuing technological advance and worsening dystopia sickens and weakens man and causes mass unemployment.

We’re already seeing this, but it will likely get much worse. Even now we live in a toxic soup of radiation, poisons and toxins in which it’s impossible to completely avoid. GMOs and strange five-syllable compounds in food, chemtrails, weaponized weather, vaccines, estrogen-mimicking plastics, and debilitating medical and pharmaceutical products and services all bombard us in a hundred ways we cannot see.

This will cause an increase in cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and other chronic debilitating and terminal diseases (the problem). Also look for pandemics/bioterrorism to surface. Ebola is one that is particularly worrying and has most likely been modified into a bio-weapon. The scope of the infection until now has been limited to Africa with only a few westerner medical workers infected. But enough fear has been produced (again, the problem) to push for significant US Congressional funding for vaccine development. Vaccines (part of the solution) now exists. An increase in these diseases will cause an outcry (the reaction) for medical solutions and devices – for cancer vaccines, genetic engineering, brain chips and various trackers. These will go mainstream and will offer some relief but will in the long run only put humanity further into the borg – a matrix-like control system.

With the rise of AI and automation, the need for service workers will decline and cause a steep increase in unemployment. Millions will go long periods without any work (problem), which will also cause an outcry for welfare programs including universal basic income.[8] Medical diagnosis and treatment will also become increasingly mediated by AI systems and consequently, physicians will also go unemployed. Those who cannot cope with being idle or being considered ‘useless eaters,’ may contemplate or attempt suicide.

But it’s perhaps the media that is most destructive. We are fast losing our basic human functions – our ability to think and feel and speak and move and relate. Consequently we’re losing our God-given humanity itself, becoming an empty shell of our former selves. All of this bombardment will continue to physically and mentally weaken us, impair us and cause us to become more dependent and more vulnerable.

Number 5 –Transhumanism goes mainstream

Summary: The AI and robotics revolution that has degraded man to the breaking point also offers transhumanist solutions.

Corresponding to the impairment of humanity, and happening at the same time, the world will dangle a very attractive ‘carrot’ – the ability to transcend our humanity and join in systems that promise a way to overcome our weaknesses and avoid its attendant suffering.

AI/AGI systems will connect us so that we ‘become one’ with ‘hive minds’ and gain knowledge and skills and experiences on demand. This will become the new internet. The 5G network which is now rolling out the ‘Internet of Things’ will start to deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency services such as autonomous driving, multi-person video calls, proxy/avatar virtual-reality sex, real-time micro-surgery, etc. We can then choose to join our data with like-minded groups that promise a seductive security previously unheard of.

This access to AI/AGI will also likely be promised as protection from or even to be able to appeal to or compete with so-called aliens. Those who don’t transcend/ascend or join the hive minds will not be able to compete and will be exposed and vulnerable and consequently be enslaved or destroyed.

Number 6– Social Scoring/Technocracy – the World Keeps Score

Summary: With transhumanist promises and the world needing to be rebuilt, AI systems and/or their alien overlords implement a social scoring system apparently intended to ‘fairly’ or ‘justly’ ration the earth’s scarce natural resources.

China already has a national scoring system designed to keep their citizens in line. This big data analytics system won’t be fully implemented until the year 2020, but some aspects are already in play. For a full description, see the Wikipedia article.[9] Similar systems may be coming online in Germany, Venezuela and the UK.

Online gaming culture, made up primarily of the millennial generation and younger, already is well versed in how this works. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media also keep score with likes, views and subscribers.

YouTube’s recent censorship and ‘de-platforming’ of alternative media stars like Alex Jones creates a problem and an outcry of unfairness (the reaction) for which the FCC and other government agencies will use to make new rules (the solution). One of those rules will likely be the requirement to make authentication mandatory – which means no more anonymous web use. Authentication and authorization (logging in) are common security techniques that primarily use passwords to verify identity. But passwords will soon become outdated in the wake of biometric authentication. Many smartphones now use face recognition to verify identity.

The massive amount of data collected on us, even in real time, serves to track our use of the energy to feed us, clothe us, warm us, entertain us, transport us, enable our communications and eliminate our waste products. All of the energy it takes to deliver those services will be calculated and scored. The smart devices in our homes – the (for example) the Alexa-controlled appliances, lights, TVs, computers, etc – will both measure and deliver and ration those services.

Proposed legislation will address the need to redistribute wealth by tracking our use of energy and reducing our ‘carbon footprint.’

So in effect, practically everything we do will be considered a consumption of energy and assigned a point value to measure out that amount of energy. For example, if the rate at which you consume energy is calculated at 100 points per month, you will need at least 100 points credited to your account or social score per month. You will receive those points based on a variety of things such as being fully vaccinated (or not), posting only acceptable content, using public transportation (instead of using a personal car), paying off loans (credit scores), school grades and much more. The social score/technocracy system, toward which leaders have been working for decades, is the holy grail of the technocrats and will serve as the ultimate carrot/stick motivator, creating mini-problem–reaction–solutions tailored to the individual.

The Ultimate Goal

Where is all this headed? What does it all mean? Let’s step back from the trees and take a good look at the forest. The focus is none other than Man and the destruction and false remaking of Man by making him worship a false god. It is nothing less than a multi-generational, diabolical, centuries-old (that’s why it has to be diabolical), multi-vectored, internationally-coordinated and mostly hidden plan that falsely promises to elevate man, but in actuality is designed to empty and enslave him and ultimately destroy him, body and soul.

That is the goal of the devil – to kill, to steal and to destroy.[10]

Of course our Lord knew all this from the beginning, but he has already re-created man by the cross and resurrection of Jesus, the Messiah. We possess our salvation simply by trusting and taking up our own cross and following him.

That is the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ.

We must see the fundamental — problem–reaction–solution:

Problem – our own vulnerability, our increasing weakness and proneness to death.

Reaction – Man therefore cries out for systems to save him from his vulnerability and proneness to death.

Solution – the devil/world system offers ‘salvation’ from suffering and death through a false-promise-entrapment transhumanist ‘transcendence.’ Specific ways that we will be tempted to commit this form of idolatry include (but in no way are these the only ways):

• medical devices/smart phone app combinations
• genetic modifications or enhancements
• life-extension products
• brain-computer interfaces

But simply accepting any of these solutions is not necessarily idolatry. Idolatry is in the heart and motivation. We must ask ourselves and the Holy Spirit – what am I really trying to do by accepting this device?

Here’s my best definition of idolatry:

Idolatry – awe and adoration of a person, object or idea from which we falsely imagine to derive pleasure, protection or well being. It is typically encapsulated and objectified in an image or gross characterization. It is a warped, all-important and indispensable obsession or fascination that we invest with power and that ultimately, if not destroyed, becomes self-destructive.

The planners’ goal is to sink man into such an unbearable state that he cannot otherwise hear or think or feel, cannot do and does not have the ability to respond to the gospel and will act out of an animal-like stimulus-response behavior.

This is really happening. This centuries-old work of Satan is coming to a harvest and we or our children or our children’s children will likely see it.

The ultimate age-old question is coming to a head. It is this: Who will you serve? Who is your God? Who is truly capable of saving us? It is ultimately a question of who we choose to trust and worship.

What should we do?

There are many things that I could say to watch out for but I’m not going to harp on those because, unless we know and participate and cultivate the real thing, no amount of prohibitions against the false will suffice.

Let’s focus on three things:

Worship. There is no substitute for learning to recognize and worship the living God in Spirit and truth. If we do not worship God, we will worship a false god. But worshiping God doesn’t mean just singing and praising and praying. It means living, working, loving, helping, eating, drinking, and doing all for the glory of God.[11] That means: telling the truth even when it hurts; it means loving your enemy, even when you’ve been hurt by him; it means doing and saying the right thing when it’s no longer popular; it means serving without calling attention to yourself, and much more. When we do these things because we trust our God, no matter the consequences, we worship him, and by these things we show the world who the true and living God is. That’s worship.

Love. When we truly see who God is and what he has done, we will melt in adoration. He is full of grace and truth; his love has penetrated our own hard hearts. Seeing this love moves us to love. ‘We love him because he first loved us.’  Love breaks down barriers, ‘love is patient and kind, suffers long, keeps no record of wrongs,’ and more. Love builds mini-communities of life.

Life. While the world around us falls into ruins, by the grace of God, we will create little microcosms of life, of joy, love, peace, patience, healing, and wisdom. We do this, in our own characteristic way, by using the gifts God has given us, to love and serve sacrificially. The best protest against death is the joyful cultivation of life.

We will be tempted; no, we are now being tempted to believe a lie, to worship false gods. But don’t do it! Just walk away! When the weather weapons hit, don’t lose your hope; when the discovery is made and science tells you it’s indisputable, don’t believe it; when your health is failing, don’t trust their systems to save you – do not fear pain or suffering or death. When the promise of transcending your humanity is offered, turn and walk away. But don’t just walk away, walk to the living God and to the people of God, by worship, love and life.
